The World TeamTennis League held its draft March 15 and the Freedoms came up with two Hometown picks!
World Doubles Champion, Lisa Raymond returns for another season as as Freedom. She'll be joined by Reading Native, Nathan Healey.
This summer, American sensation, Melanie Oudin comes to Philadelphia where she’s expected to dazzle tennis fans once again, this time, as WTT Philadelphia Freedoms player. Melanie first made her mark on the world tennis stage in 2009 when she upset former WTA number one player Jelena Jankovic at Wimbledon. 19 year old tennis sensation Melanie Oudin will be suiting up as a Philadelphia Freedoms player in the 2011 WTT Season.
Oudin, just 19, will be a newcomer to the WTT Pro League. She brings power, personality and an impressive record with her including "come from behind" wins over the likes of Elena Dementieva, Maria Sharapova and Nadia Petrova. She was the youngest American Grand Slam quarterfinalist since Serena Williams in 1999. And Oudin brings with her experience in International team play as she represented the United States in US Fed Cup competition this past year.
Who else will Philly tennis lovers see in the 2011 WTT season?

Venus Williams. And crowd favorites,
Bob and Mike Bryan.
All three are scheduled to make appearances at Freedoms’ home matches in July on the team’s home court at Villanova University’s Pavilion.
