FREEDOMS ANNOUNCE 2004 SCHEDULE

Patrick Rafter, Andre Agassi, and Martina Navratilova to play in Philadelphia

Philadelphia (April 22, 2004) - The Philadelphia Freedoms announced their schedule for the 2004 World TeamTennis (WTT) Pro League season today. The Freedoms will play seven home matches at Cabrini College in Radnor, including their home opener on July 5 against the New York Sportimes. All home matches are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. EST. (home matches are in bold). Philadelphia will also play on the road seven times during the season, which runs July 5-25.

Tennis legend Patrick Rafter and hometown hero Lisa Raymond will lead the charge for the 2004 Freedoms squad. Rafter is scheduled to play three matches this season. His only home appearance will be on July 21 when the Freedoms host the Springfield Lasers. Two of tennis’ most popular stars, Andre Agassi and Martina Navratilova, will be making visits to the Freedoms’ home court during the WTT season. Agassi visits on July 9 and Navratilova, who played for the Freedoms last season, comes back to town on July 15.

Lisa Raymond is the most familiar face in the Freedoms’ 2004 lineup and she will have talented teammates to support her on the roster. Josh Eagle, Elena Tatarkova, John Paul Fruterro will take to the court for the 2001 WTT Champions.

“Our team has tremendous experience and enthusiasm and will bring an incredible energy to the tennis community,” said Lisa Lauck, general manager of the Freedoms. Lauck added that the team is focused not only on winning another championship but bringing tennis to the local community. “We will have a variety of fun activities and promotions for the entire family planned for this season.”
