August 25, 2015 12:15 AM

Head Coach David O'Connell wraps up the 2015 Lower Merion Boy's season.

"This year was a truly memorable one for LM tennis. The season was capped off by a AAA state championship win in Hershey on May 16th. After a loss to Conestoga in the opening Central League match, the Aces piled up 54 straight wins in the next 8 matches.

With late season wins over Harriton and Radnor followed by a tough loss to nationally ranked Haverford School, LM was ready for District 1 play. The team defeated 4 league champs during districts on their way to the District 1 championship. The run included a 3-1 win over Conestoga in the semifinal which avenged their only league loss.

In state play, the Aces shut out Southwestern 5-0 to go to Hershey.  In the quarterfinal LM ousted the defending state champs Shady Side with a 3-2 win. In the semifinals the Aces defeated Abington Heights 5-0. In the final the singles players led the Aces to the State Championship with a 3-2 win over District 7 champ Upper St. Clair."

Congratulations to Lower Merion Boy's Tennis Team for their 2015 PIAA Class AAA State Championship!!
