Swarthmore JTT Represents PATD in the 18U Advanced Sectional Playoffs

For the second year in a row, the Swarthmore Smash (www.SwarthmoreJTT.com) won its 18U Advanced division for the Philadelphia Area Tennis District (PATD) and represented the PATD in Sectional playoffs in Princeton, NJ.

Last year, the Swarthmore Smash came in fourth place, and this year they came in second, behind the Lehigh Valley Club team. In JTT, each team faces off in two gender singles matches, two gender doubles matches, and a mixed doubles match, and the total number of games won determines the overall score.

Junior Team Tennis (JTT) is a national tennis league for boys and girls 5 - 18 years old, operated by the United States Tennis Association and inspired by Billie Jean King's World Team Tennis. Co-ed teams compete in separate age divisions and skill levels year round, with the season-ending play-offs taking place in July.

In the Middle States section, over 80 JTT teams competed in the 18U division from across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, and the top place team in each of the six districts compete in Sectional playoffs for the opportunity to represent Middle States at the National level.

    Congratulations Swarthmore Smash!
