USTA Jr. Team Tennis Local League Fall Champions Crowned

November 15, 2012 07:35 AM
The 2012 Philadelphia Area Jr. Team Tennis Fall League wrapped up a few weeks ago with 36 teams from 6 divisions. Overall, they had 360 players in the league and is one of the biggest in the Section.
The 10 and under division was won by a tough Tennis Addiction team. This division uses the QuickStart format with 60 foot courts and orange transition balls.
Tennis Addiction took the 12 and under division too, which advances on to the USTA Jr. Team Tennis Philadelphia District Championships in July. Overall, they finished with an undefeated record, edging out Morningstar who they tied with in the season.
The 14 and under champions also advance to Districts in July. The league contained 2 flights- with the Split Steps from Radnor Valley Country Club taking one flight and the Kennett Krush from Kennett Square Golf and Country Club taking the other.
Lastly, the league has an 18 and under Boys Flight. This flight does not advance to Districts because of the single-gender format. However, the Brain Blisters took Flight B with the HHS U18 Warriors taking Flight A.
All winning teams receive Championship T-shirts with team names on the back!
Congratulations to everybody!
